Frequently Asked Questions

What's a cafe racer?
It's any type of bike that has been stripped down for racing but is mainly ridden on the street. The name itself came from the practice of the early riders to gather in cafes and talk bikes, then race each other down to the next cafe and back to see who really had the fastest bike.

What kind of bike is that?
It's a 1975 Honda CB360, with two cylinders, six speeds and about 32 horsepower. From the factory it weighed about 390 pounds but I don't know what it weighs now. I'd guess about 50 pounds lighter.

It looks kinda small. Isn't it dangerous?
Not really. The size of the bike isn't as important as the size of the rider's brain. I wear full gear (helmet, jacket, gloves, boots, etc.) which is more than most people do.

Are you going to sell it and build another?
Not a chance.

Are you going to race it?
Highly unlikely. I might do a few track days for the fun of it, but I'm not experienced enough and the bike isn't competitive.

Why did you make this site?
I have friends, family, co-workers and neighbors who were curious. Instead of just a few pics of the bike, I'm showing how it was put together.
